Planning for dinner always seems to pose a bit of a challenge. A bit like planning for a shoot. Lots of little bits and pieces that you need to consider. You normally need to take into consideration a lot of perspectives from your family or clients. It's all about gathering the right information up front, making sure that you listen closely - thinking about all of the details and having all of the right things Read More
food photography
A win, win.
Each shoot day, I'm presented with a new challenge - no matter what I need to shoot. Products, Food, Jewelry, Shoes, People.........you throw it at me and I figure it out. Problem solver is my daily "who I am." Creative guy is what I'd prefer as first on my list, but isn't always top due to the over-arching need of "what does the client want?" With this challenge above, it was a little bit of both and that challenge Read More
A Taste of something we are working on for the holidays.
Endless Possibilities………
Collaborations that are of a creative nature are a bit like a marriage, some give and take, some hard work, great ideas, thinking out of the box and some hustle. We've decided to work together and make these things happen. We have imagination, a lot of heart and can't wait to work on projects together and hopefully, with many of you. It's a big world out there and we are ready to give it our combined efforts, and with Read More
Grateful for Work 2014
Debbie and I talk frequently these days about how grateful we are for all the work that has been coming our way. As we mentioned in a previous post, August to December 2013 were some of the busiest months we have had in years. We had a much needed break in January and then things began to pick up once again. And this week we find ourselves in our 7th week of being booked at least 4 days out of 5. While this often means Read More
Pre-Production with Penelope
We have been in full pre-production mode over the last few weeks. This is all in preparation for a large food packaging shoot starting next week. We worked with a few wonderful food stylists, Molly and Jacky. Since we are a dog-friendly studio we encouraged Molly to bring her dog Peneolpe along. Here is a picture of Nick, Molly and Penelope hard at work. Our dog Benny absolutely loved having a friend to play with this Read More

New Image
Here is the latest image I created for the portfolio. I was inspired by the beauty and simplicity of a strawberry and wanted to make a mouth watering image. I hope you like it. We have sent it out as an email to our database and received quite a few reply's from clients who love the image. Can you tell we are ready for summer? Read More
Three days of Food Packaging Photography
We have just wrapped up a great 3 day food packaging project. I put the finishing touches on the images this morning and sent them off. I also photographed the products in their frozen state for the art director to use in layouts. First thing this morning we got an email from the client saying, "This was a challenging shoot but I was pleased to see the sustained energy and willingness to keep pushing forward with Read More

We have recently been doing some test shooting and creating some beautiful editorial food images. We also worked with Sunny Ricks again - she is a regular here at the studio and we love collaborating with her. Here are a few images from the set that Deb took with her little Read More
